Heat-press settings must stay attached to the actual blank
Sawgrass currently publishes category starting settings such as 45 seconds at 400°F / 205°C with medium pressure for polyester fabric, while some ceramic/glass items use much longer dwell times. Sawgrass also advises checking the setting for the specific blank because general tables are not universal.
Epson's dye-sublimation systems likewise treat printer, ink, transfer media and compatible substrate as a workflow rather than a normal office-printing process.

How the calculation works
The tool returns values from the cited Sawgrass reference table rather than inventing a heat-transfer formula; Fahrenheit-to-Celsius conversion uses (°F − 32) × 5/9.
What this calculator cannot know
Coating, blank construction, press calibration, platen temperature recovery and equipment type change the required setting. The blank manufacturer/dealer’s specification overrides this reference.
