What the result is useful for
Use the measured single-sheet caliper for stack height, book/block thickness and equipment-clearance planning; do not infer it from GSM when the physical thickness controls the job.
How the calculation works
Average single-sheet thickness = average measured stack thickness ÷ number of sheets. The same caliper can then be multiplied by any target sheet count to project stack height.
What this calculator cannot know
Paper caliper, stiffness, coating and bulk are separate properties from GSM/basis weight. Manufacturer specifications and physical measurements control machine/binding suitability.
