Plan the wrap canvas around KDP’s official spine width

Use the final trim size and paste the spine width from Amazon KDP’s official cover calculator/template. The workspace then visualizes the wrap, boards, spine and hinge protection without reverse-engineering a provider-controlled spine formula.

Use the official template to supply the spine

InkyValley uses the current hardcover wrap/hinge/content boundaries to explain the layout, but deliberately asks for the spine width from KDP’s official cover calculator/template. That prevents a provider-controlled dimension from being reverse-engineered from an outdated assumption.

What the result is useful for

Useful for translating the official KDP template dimensions into an understandable cover layout before design/export.

How the calculation works

The planner adds KDP’s published wrap around the outside cover and shows the published hinge and safe-placement distances around the visible covers.

What this calculator cannot know

KDP controls final hardcover geometry. Use the official cover calculator/template for the exact spine and final provider dimensions; this tool deliberately does not reverse-engineer an unpublished spine formula.
