Screen Exposure Step-Test Planner
Enter your current best-guess exposure and percentage step. The planner produces a sequence of test times you can evaluate with your normal mesh, emulsion, coating and light source.
Enter your job values
Use the real values from your job. Optional fields can stay blank; zero should only be used when the value genuinely does not apply.
Your result will appear here
3 required values are still missing.
What the result is useful for
Use this when dialing in a new emulsion, mesh/coating method, lamp distance or exposure unit so testing replaces guesswork.
How the calculation works
Test times are generated around the baseline using percentage intervals; the tool does not claim which step is correct because that must be observed on the actual coated screen.
What this calculator cannot know
There is no universal screen-exposure time. Mesh, stencil thickness, humidity, light output, emulsion and film density all affect exposure; use a proper step-wedge/test image and follow the emulsion manufacturer.
