How the calculation works
The tool tests normal and 90°-rotated rectangular grids after accounting for gutters and returns the better simple yield.
What this calculator cannot know
This is rectangular planning math, not a press/RIP nesting engine. Grain direction, gripper, color bars, cut sequence, bleed, mixed jobs and finishing can reduce practical yield.
