KDP Interior PDF Checker
Choose trim size and bleed mode, then upload the actual interior PDF to see which detectable geometry checks match and what still needs KDP Previewer or full preflight.
Compare the manuscript PDF with the intended KDP trim/bleed page size
Use the final interior before sizing the cover
KDP paperback cover width depends on trim width, paper/interior type and final page count because the page count controls spine width. The cover also includes 0.125 in bleed on the two outer sides and top/bottom. Books below 79 pages should not include printed spine text.
- Finalize the interior.Export or format the interior first so the page count is stable.
- Choose the exact trim and paper type.Changing either can change the cover or spine requirement.
- Calculate the full cover.Use the workspace for full dimensions, spine, pixels and mismatch checking.
- Compare with KDP's current template.Use the official cover calculator/template as the final provider-controlled check.
What the result is useful for
Useful for catching obvious interior-size and encryption mistakes before upload.
How the calculation works
The browser compares detected PDF MediaBox/TrimBox geometry and security/page-count signals with the expected KDP page-size calculation.
What this calculator cannot know
This does not prove margins inside page artwork, effective image resolution, font embedding in every compressed object, or KDP acceptance. Use KDP Previewer and current KDP requirements before publishing.
