Finishing reality check

Paper bulk, grain and equipment can change the geometry

Booklet creep, fold compensation and spine thickness are physical-production estimates. Whenever a fold, bind, die or laminator controls the finished piece, record the actual stock caliper and the equipment/vendor specification rather than converting GSM to thickness by assumption.

What the result is useful for

Useful for quote building when film usage is the cost driver.

How the calculation works

Film area = sheet area × quantity × laminated sides × (1 + waste%). Cost = planned film area × entered cost per square unit.

What this calculator cannot know

Setup sheets, minimum charges, adhesive, machine time and roll-width optimization are not included unless you add them elsewhere in the production quote.
