Fold Panel & Score Calculator
Enter the flat width, panel count and optional inside-panel compensation to get panel widths and score positions.
Plan panel widths and score positions
Use equal panels for accordion-style planning, or enter an inside-panel reduction when a roll/fold structure requires the tucked panel to be narrower. Always verify the actual folding machine and paper thickness before production.
Waiting for real job values
Enter the flat width.
Paper bulk, grain and equipment can change the geometry
Booklet creep, fold compensation and spine thickness are physical-production estimates. Whenever a fold, bind, die or laminator controls the finished piece, record the actual stock caliper and the equipment/vendor specification rather than converting GSM to thickness by assumption.
What the result is useful for
Useful for creating a dimensioned fold plan before artwork is laid out.
How the calculation works
Equal folds divide flat width by panel count. For a roll fold, the inside panel is reduced by the entered compensation and the remaining width is distributed across the other panels.
What this calculator cannot know
Actual fold compensation depends on stock thickness, coating, grain, scoring and folding equipment. Verify the finisher’s specification on paid work.
