How the calculation works
Usable sheet dimensions subtract twice each edge margin. Grid counts use floor((usable + gap) ÷ (label + gap)) on both axes and compare 0° versus 90° rotation.
What this calculator cannot know
It assumes a rectangular equal-size grid. Die-cut nesting, printer non-printable zones, registration marks, gutters for cutting and vendor template positions can reduce practical yield.
