Finishing reality check

Paper bulk, grain and equipment can change the geometry

Booklet creep, fold compensation and spine thickness are physical-production estimates. Whenever a fold, bind, die or laminator controls the finished piece, record the actual stock caliper and the equipment/vendor specification rather than converting GSM to thickness by assumption.

What the result is useful for

Explicit score coordinates are useful when handing a fold plan to layout, finishing or estimating.

How the calculation works

Panel width = flat width ÷ panel count. Score positions are successive multiples of the panel width before the final edge.

What this calculator cannot know

This equal-panel calculator does not compensate roll folds, gate folds, stock caliper, scoring-channel width or machine setup.
