What the result is useful for

Useful after encoding software has chosen the matrix size and you need to verify physical artwork dimensions.

How the calculation works

GS1 DataMatrix uses a one-module quiet zone on each side, so total printed modules = encoded modules + 2 in each dimension; physical size = total modules × X-dimension.

What this calculator cannot know

This tool does not encode data, choose the DataMatrix version, grade print quality or verify the symbol.
